Mistake-Proof Your Writing
Does the idea of having someone critique your words make you cringe just a little? Don’t worry—you’ve come to the right place! The goal of Unmistakably Yours Proofreading and Editing Service is to help you improve your writing in a way that allows you to preserve your voice and retain your own unique style. Your writing remains your own—minus the mistakes. Your writing is unmistakably yours.
Hello, and welcome to my website. My name is Elizabeth Reed, and I’m an experienced proofreader, editor, and a published author. As a Christian, I believe proofreading and editing is a metaphor for allowing God to make corrections in my own life. Having God edit out my mistakes is sometimes uncomfortable, but it always results in a much cleaner copy. I confess I’m a work in progress, and the prayer of my heart continues to be “Lord, help me to live my life in such a way that others may see I’m unmistakably Yours.”
Regarding qualifications, I graduated (more than a few years ago) with a degree in history and a double major in English; my college credits included classes in journalism and creative writing. I worked for five years in the textbook industry, during which time I was involved in research, writing, and editing. I authored a second-grade social studies textbook and wrote many reading and listening stories for kindergarten and first grade. I was later employed for six years as a legal assistant where my duties included transcribing and proofreading letters and legal documents.
More recently, I have continued my education with multiple online courses in proofreading and editing. In 2018, I became the founder of Unmistakably Yours Proofreading and Editing Service and the creator of the Miss Persnickety persona.
When you need to get picky,
pick Miss Persnickety,
your personal proofreading professional!
Developing the character of Miss Persnickety allows me to present my proofreading business in a unique manner that combines my skill in grammar and punctuation with my love for history and creative writing. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know the fictional Miss Persnickety as much as I look forward to developing her story in future episodes.
Using Miss P for my business logo may seem like a bit of an anachronism, but old-fashioned values never go out of style. Consider me a modern-day Miss Persnickety using current technology to provide old-fashioned service. My goodness, I feel like I should offer you a homemade cookie now, warm from the oven with a glass of cold milk.
